Nashville June Home Sales Drop 11.6%

Blame it on the highest sales on record for June of 2006, which reported closed transactions of 4,060 homes. This year there were 3,588 closings, which was a 11.6% drop from last year at this time.

The average price for a single-family home in the Nashville area was $196,000.................and condos $ 155,800. Last year the average price for a single family home was $181,000 and condos $ 149,000. So prices have gone up and right now there is less than a 6 month supply of homes on the market. This is the 3rd consecutive year in which there have been more than 18,000 homes sales by mid-year...and the 4th consecutive year in which home sales passed the 10,000 mark in the 2nd quarter.
