Superstar Kix Brooks opens Williamson County's first winery. Along with partners, Kip Summers and Fred Mindermann....and an investment of over $2 Million, the winery will open by the end of this month.
Arrington Vineyard (named for the community), will be a destination for wine tasting (12 different wines at this time), retail sales and a few concerts along the way.
Wineries in Tennessee are relatively few in number.... about 24. This is due to the fact that probihition shut down winemaking in 1919. Legislation passed in the early 1970's paved the way for wineries to operate once again.
As more and more farmers shift their focus from tobacco to other crops, grapes will be right up there as a favorite. |
